Wintergreeen 250 Bag TagHow often has your buddy told you he hit one 250 or even 300 yards? Now's your chance to have him prove it. Take the Wintergreen 250 yard challenge !

Hole #11 at Wintergreen is the quintessential risk versus reward par 5. Take the safe route by hitting it 150-230 yards to the landing area at right and you're left with a mid to long iron second shot setting up a 100 yard wedge that gives you a great chance at birdie. Now - get a little more adventurous and carry the ball 235 yards + and you can leave yourself a 100-150 yard second shot that gives you a great chance at eagle!

The overhead below gives you a good idea of the distances required. Depending upon the line you choose you need anywhere from a 235 yard carry to the far left edge of the bunker or a 245 yard carry over the bunker itself. A 250 yard carry gives you a little lattitude in your choice of lines.

An aggressive player will take it left of the bunker leaving as little as a 100 yard shot into the green and maximizing the chance for a tap in birdie or even eagle.

250 yard challenge distances

Thinking about going for the green? You'll have to be the biggest of the big hitters to take it there. Bubba Watson can likely get it into one of the two front bunkers for a sand save eagle. Lucky for the rest of us he won't likely be playing the blue tees!

From the back of the tee box it becomes a 258 yard carry to reach dry ground or a 371 yard carry to the middle of the green.
